Congratulations to Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi
The happy couple held a private intimate ceremony surrounded by close family. Their wedding was held at the Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge, Windsor on Friday 17th July. We are in wonder of their special day.
Something Borrowed
At Borrowed Blue Australia we love to hear about the tradition of ‘Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue’. Of course for the ceremony, the royal bride’s something borrowed was from Queen Elizabeth, a stunning tiara that the Queen wore in her wedding to Prince Phillip, in 1947. The history behind this exquisite piece is that The Queen Mary Fringe tiara, began as a necklace given to Queen Mary by Queen Victoria. Queen Mary, transformed it into a tiara and wore the tiara regularly. Stunning Floral Arrangements
As with flowers selected by many brides, wedding bouquets for royalty are usually chosen with a connection to the bride’s family. Traditionally royals include sprigs of myrtle that signify hope and love, this was included in Princess Beatrice’s bouquet. The royal bride chose an arrangement filled with various pinks, and cream, trailing jasmine, royal porcelain ivory spray roses and many more beautiful flowers. The stunning arrangement was created by Patrice Van Helden, co-owner of RVH Floral Design.
Glamorous Vintage Gown
Beatrice wore a beautiful crafted vintage designed gown borrowed from the Queen. Created by courtier designer Norman Hartnell, This glamorous dress was trimmed with duchess satin and encrusted with diamante. The beautiful gown was fitted and altered to reflect Princess Beatrice’s style. With royal tradition, the bride also wore a classic exquisite veil to complement her dress.
