Wedding Postponed for Renee and Daniel
Saturday 18th April 2020 was meant to be the best day of our lives however, four weeks out Thursday 19th March 2020 was a day we had never planned for. The day that the borders into Tasmania were effectively closed, for weeks we had both been trying to block out the fact that we may not be getting married. The hard decision was made on that night to postpone our wedding until April 2021, all the vendor’s were fantastic in assisting us during this hard time and the process was made a lot easier with fantastic vendor’s. Cutting numbers of the people attending our wedding was never even on the cards, for some people it is but for us after being together for over ten years, we wanted to share our special day with everyone that had been there with us along the way. After the government announced that there couldn’t be any more than five people at a wedding it made me feel a lot easier about the decision that we had made.

We Were Planning Our Wedding For Five Years
The last few weeks were very tough with what should have been an enjoyable time, we should have been celebrating with our Bucks and Hens party and enjoying the lead up to our wedding, but instead we were trying to keep our minds occupied and not think about it. This was hard for me, I had the perfect dress, the perfect day planned and had been counting down to this day for five years so I started thinking what could we do to celebrate our original wedding day. We were very limited to what we could do as there are currently some very strict restrictions in place here in Tasmania at the moment, so whatever we were going to do had to be done from home.

Isolation Photography Shoot and Three Course Meal Delivered
The photographer’s that we had booked for our wedding had been trialling different ways of being able to continue photographing business going and had come up with the idea of Isolation Photography. We decided that this would be a fun way to document our ‘We nearly got married’ day as we titled it. Our photographer’s Flick + Dave Photographer were just awesome, the process was so fun and in return we got some amazing photos to remember the day. Our Iso photo shoot was then followed by a lovely tea, due to the restrictions we weren’t able to go out and have a fancy tea but lucky enough Pizzarani’s Cucina had started up delivery packages and we had an amazing three course meal delivered right to our front door step. Dinner was also accompanied with a lovely bottle of wine that was gifted to us from two of our bridal party and was picked up when I was doing an Iso delivery for them.
Countdown Begins For Our 2021 Wedding
Although it was a very hard decision to make to postpone our wedding, it was definitely the right decision and I think celebrating our old wedding day was also a great decision. If you are thinking about ways to celebrate your old wedding date then I strongly recommend a night in at home with your loved one and think of how you can continue to support some of the vendor’s you would have been using. We are now on the count down again for our 2021 wedding.
