History of Tecnevin

Tecnevin was the second property to be constructed in the area in 1859, it became the home to the daughter of the first Shoreham settlers Honora Byrnes and her husband Edmund Riley. The original home stood where today the tennis court is. The current homestead was built in 1930, by Major McGregor Knox, he built Tecnevin as his summer house, after time the Major returned to Scotland and the house was sold. During world war II, Tecnevin was a dairy and taken over to supply the armed forces with milk. By 1950 an extension was added to the main house, and the home has recently undergone a renovation. The cottage was built in the 1880’s and has recently been extended and refurbished. Today the estate is renowned as a stunning venue for various events, wedding ceremonies, receptions and DIY dinners and accommodation stays.

The Main Home comprises large open plan living, kitchen to dining boasting a large open fireplace, two queen bedrooms, master with ensuite, a third bedroom features two single beds, a luxury bathroom, with bath and a separate WC. The home has a beautiful sunroom complete with lounge and day lounge to rest, soak up the sun and read a book. The Cottage is set not far from the main home and comprises one a queen size bedroom with bathroom, a separate living area with a gorgeous kitchenette.
