Arriving at the majestic estate Anlaby Station, through the driveway lined with blue gums takes you back in time to the Edwardian era The front of Anlaby Station is framed by a huge peppercorn tree, and boasts the property’s Italianate-style concrete balustrade and fluted columns. This unique historic property is over 180 years old. It was established in 1839. Nestled in rolling hills between the Barossa and Clare Valley wine regions, this destination is perfect for new beginnings, celebrating your wedding alongside your nearest and dearest. From the grandest special occasion to the most intimate wedding, or an inviting getaway, your hosts at Anlaby will ensure that your day is unforgettable. At Anlaby they will coordinate your special day to make it smooth and stress free, and assist you with all your planning, catering, event themes, flowers, photographer and much more. The beautiful property features vintage charm, elegance, and Australian rural history, being home to the oldest Merino Stud in South Australia. You are bound to see some of their prized merino sheep as they graze in the open plains or perhaps the wooded areas.

 

Something Special, Something Unique

Say your vows in one of the most extravagant and unique venues in South Australia. This National Historic Landmark is a gem of rural elegance, surrounded by picturesque landscapes, many tree varieties, and lush gardens that date back to the 1800s. The perfect place to exchange wedding vows is under the Chinese Elm on the front garden terrace, with the sound of nature and the tranquil fountain in the background. There are approximately 10 acres of Edwardian, English style gardens. Your guests will adore the allure of the surreal grand homestead, all with a glass of champagne in hand. Once the ceremony is complete, and you are being photographed, everyone can enjoy delicious canapés served on the Colonnade. This stunning black and white marble tiled terrace has an elevated view of the front garden, fountain and folly. Guests are welcomed to wander through the garden terraces, and rose garden and admire the Peacock Aviary. Afterwards guests head on over to the Clydesdale Pavillion, the location for the reception. A stone building on site with brick floors and a corrugated iron roof. The Clydesdale Pavillion once housed 24 working Clydesdales. It is now an incredible function space.

 

Wedding Party Accommodation

An air of elegance and Australian history pervades this enchanting grand property, with landscaped grounds and luxurious accommodation. A perfect stay for the wedding party to get ready and relax is in the Manor House or the Gardeners Cottage to enjoy magical moments before the ceremony. Your hosts provide personal attention and will ensure the most important day of your life will be full of treasured memories.

 

Perfect Romantic Getaway at the Manor House

Immerse yourself in the history of Anlaby and wander the gardens at your leisure as you stay in the Manor House. This two story stone building was once the Manager’s and Accountant’s Offices, and has been converted into self-contained Bed and Breakfast accommodation. There are three bedrooms upstairs, with a kitchen, bathroom and very comfortable sitting room with cosy log burner downstairs.

 

Beautiful Accommodation at the Gardeners Cottage

Located in the precinct of Anlaby homestead, this cottage, now a B&B, was built for the Head Gardener in the early 1900s. At this time, the Head Gardener was responsible for the 14 gardeners who lovingly tended the historic Anlaby garden. The cottage has three beautifully appointed Queen bedrooms, two comfortable lounges, a modern bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. The building sits in its own beautiful cottage garden. The Gardeners Cottage is fitted with a fully ducted air conditioning system.

 

Ideal Location for a Quiet Getaway

Anlaby is approximately 13 kms from Kapunda and it is about a 40-minute drive to both the Barossa and Clare Valley winery regions. This is an ideal location for a quiet getaway while you take a ‘beautiful step back in time’ surrounded by modern creature comforts. Free Wi-Fi is provided throughout the property. Locally sourced breakfast provisions are supplied. Evening meals can be pre-booked. The wedding venue’s curfew is midnight and can be viewed by appointment.
